Enlightenment and Consequence

Over the last few weeks since the passing of my Mother-in-Law taken far too soon by an unseen, unchallengeable foe that had taunted both the lady and those closest to her, I have found myself immersed in the need to fight back in some small way. I felt the urge to lash out at the cruelty of what life had thrown our way, for the second time in under a year. Both the mother and father of the woman I love, taken by cancer and each had, at one time, served in the medical profession in their lives. Ironic, you … Continue reading Enlightenment and Consequence

Vision to Fruition – With A Little Help From My Friends

You’re Not Alone – An Indie Author Anthology This Anthology began with a single thought…  “What can I do to help?” Faced with the realisation that I was witnesssing the beginning of the end of a fight with cancer that had raged for eight years in someone very dear to me, I felt powerless to do anything to thwart the inevitable. It was in the final days of Pamela’s life that I realised the potential that myself, and my writer friends possessed, that would enable us to make a difference. They say that ‘Actions speak louder than words’… I beg … Continue reading Vision to Fruition – With A Little Help From My Friends

Interview with author Ian D Moore, author of “Salby Damned” and driving force behind charitable anthology “You’re not Alone”

Today I have the great pleasure to introduce Ian D Moore, the gifted author of “Salby Damned” , a fascinating and breath-taking thriller that blends environmental and humanitarian issues into a gripping Zombie story line. The Shale Gas Fracking Corporation’s drilling has catastrophic viral consequences and a cure must be found while humans have to defend themselves against the Zombies. With two interesting main characters, a freelancing journalist and a council leader, the book has also a spark of romance flying around and great chemistry. They are very likeable and not your usual stereotypes, giving the story… Continue reading Interview with author Ian D Moore, author of “Salby Damned” and driving force behind charitable anthology “You’re not Alone”

Couple Thousand Miles, Two Time Zones, One Goal

At 0200hrs UK time and indeed, for most of the day today on and off, myself and the very talented author Nico Laeser, the digital designer who created this cover image alongside the simply awesome Christine Southworth, batted backwards and forwards ideas relating to the font and text layout. The first image was far too generic for me, in my head was something smoother, older looking, something to give real ‘feeling’ to the efforts of both artists. I wasn’t keen on the first cover with the italics and the regimented lines, it needed something to make it speak to me. After a … Continue reading Couple Thousand Miles, Two Time Zones, One Goal

It’s Been A Funny Year

Now I know you may think that we’re only in May and you’d be right, however, being a night worker, my days, weeks, months and years all seem to roll into each other. It’s been a while since I blogged on here and, not without good reason. Our family, my shielded, protected and loved by me family has fallen prey to the dreaded C Word not once, but twice in under 8 months. Two people taken from us that we so dearly loved. The effect, as you can imagine, has been devastating. In trying to come to terms with the … Continue reading It’s Been A Funny Year
